My MA rack showed up at ADI yesterday. Took me about 30 minutes to get it into the van because I had to remove and move about 30 boxes.
Today was the "get-the-rack-into-2nd-floor-automation-closet-day".

I had fun with several tools and gizmos that I don't get to play with every day :-)

I probably would have used the stairs and an appliance dolly, if not a mover.

But ingenuity got you there too! Well done.

MA MRK? I think they can ship it to your office/home next time. Sign up with MA.

Let me ask you this guys:
Your own house. You have a choice of plain dolly on the stairs or a gantry crane with a winch; which way do you go?
BTW, there is only one right answer, and the wrong one will get you banned from my circle :-)

Actually this picture is not how we ended up doing it. This 42U was too tall to get into that opening as shown, so I had to lay it on it's side and then we had plenty of clearance.

Bottom line is, I had fun with it.

No, this is the RCS-4224 rack that I got for my house based on a post here: [Link: remotecentral.com]

I normally do Snap racks due to budget constraints, and even then, it's only few installs a year. I wanted one for my house with the front locking door. With 14 grandkids and several other kids running loose in our house, sooner or later someone is going to press something on the rack that I'm not going to appreciate. This way it's locked behind doors and all the kids can do is watch pretty lights blink.

What's the minimum yearly commit to sign up with MA?
Do they do free S/H for all their products?
That's why I've ordered few MA pieces here and there thru ADI. My local branch will bring anything for free (no S/H fees), as long as I pick it up. If I'm not driving by them daily, my wife is, so we can just stop by on our way.
Oh, and ADI made me deal on this unit. I think I saved around 80 bucks.

No commitment, but they do charge shipping. I am direct, pm me if you want more info. They recently started having direct through a vendor, like sonos does.

Uhhhhh, The answer is Gantry Crane! Shit man i would have done the same thing if i had that availible. Half the fun is "engineering" how to do it :)

Thats your house?
