Im looking to see what anyone is doing with the Articulating Plasma Mounts with metal studs? I did one today but it seemed to me to be flexing the wall too much even though i braced it with 2x4s. Any help would be great.

After looking through more carefully I can side with NYHifi. We have used 13 Ply Marine Birch (although it is thicker than rock)with sheetrock where the studs don't line up for a symmetrical mount. I would try this if I didn't have the wherewithal to remove the whole wall area... I still pitch this first

In a retrofit, beggers can't be choosers and you'll have to be on a stud alignment. Now if the customer wants it 'right here' then they will have to pay to have the reinforcement put in the wall.
If it's a new build, definataly put wood backer where you need the plasma!

Ok here is my two cents ... has any stopped to think about this, commercial building are usually 24" centers. Just some thing to think about.

That's interesting. I've never worked on a 24" stud scale. I've been in this business 12 years.
Remind me to never work in NY! ; )

On a commercial property with metal studs, they are non load bearing walls, so you don't need to be 16" o.c.

I Install in NY every day and I never seen 24 on center. A standard 4x8 sheet or sheetrock with 3 studs behind it (24 0n center) does not sound to sturdy
