I've just programmed my new Proto Pro and it's really cool. I have one weird issues. On my Home Page, all my icons work fine, but the text buttons (beside the icons) won't run any macros, links, etc. They work fine in the Simulator, but do nothing on the remote. I have downloaded the lastest software and firmware earlier today, so I know I have all the latest updates.
Thanks
Jim

When you say "text" buttons what exactly do you mean? More detail in general regarding your problem would be helpful.

On the default home screen, we have Icons on left with labels to the right. I'm using the default file for single room installation with a few mods. For example, On Watch TV, I have the Icon on the Rainbow TV, and and label beside it that says Watch Live TV. Clickcing on the Icon works fine, but not clicking on the text "Watch Live TV" which is nothing but a transparanet botton, Both items have a action set to Run the same Macro from the Activity Macros set. I can't get the text only button to run anything.

More weirdness, when I copied a graphic into the text from the gallery (using shift enter) the button will work, but when I remove the graphic in no longer works. As I said, it runs in the simulator, but not on the live remote. Other than this issue, everything on the remote is working great.

I was wondering if there's a setting as to whehter a button is active or not, but I can't find anything that would make this happen. I can upload my XCF file if that woudl help. Thanks
Jim

Very simple explanation.

Anything that is 100% transparent cannot be clicked. The text button uses a fully transparent graphic as its background. If you use the stylus you should find you can click on the pixels making up the text.

These configs were built before they added the option for a panel to be transparent.

Theer are 3 ways to place text on a transparent background:
- Use a button with a transparent background image, but you have to put an action on it to stop it being greyed out
- Use a panel with a transparent backround image
- Use a panel, with no background image, but mark it No Fill.

If they were doing it now, they would use the last option.

I tried to click on the text part with a stylus, it won't click at all on these text buttons, but no problemo. Are you saying that if I use a no-fill panel instead of a transparant button, that I can click on it? Or should I try something else like making the left images buttons larger so the cover the text button which makes the region clickable.

Thanks

The only way to click on a transparent background is to change the image from a 100% transparent image to an image that is 99% (or less) transparent.

No, you must follow Peter's advice above and create images that are solid white or other color and set the opacity of the layer to 1%. White images work best.
