I suspect the latest Windows 10 update may have broken the link to user database for PEP 3.0.23 I am running Windows 10 Build: 19044.1586 which was updated this week.
The problem may be unrelated to the Windows update, since I haven't used the editor in awhile.
The error message reads "Pronto Data Service not running. Please re-install Pronto Edit Professional 3."
The program will eventually run, but without access to the database, I can't add new IR codes.
Has anyone else seen this? I wanted to check before reinstalling the program. I'm not sure how to back up the component IR datafiles.

After reviewed old posts on this topic, I backed up the database and reinstalled PEP v 3. Everything seems to be working fine now.

I go into Task Manager and look in either Processes or Services, I don’t remember which. Anyway, I find Pronto Data Services and restart it. I usually only have to do this once.
Sometimes when installing Pronto, it hangs and stops for me. I have found that stopping Pronto Data Services and restarting the install will allow it to finish normally. Then I have to restart Pronto Data Services.
At least we have the software, and not some server in the cloud that is no longer running! (Talking about you, iRule!)
