Years ago I tried to get Pronto Edit installed via wine without success. I came across Crossover for mac and the program installed and launched Ok much to my surprise. I was able to navigate around but got HID not found when trying to download the file into my Pronto. This may possibly be able to be fixed so I thought that I would post a link to the software which has a free trial. I only use windows for my Pronto so if someone could get it to work properly it may help a lot of us...

I've got a small cut down XP Virtual machine, I originally used it with the free Virtual box player on 64bit Windows 10, I then transferred the VM to my Mac when I swapped and have since imported the VM into VMWare Fusion.

VM Ware fusion is very worthwhile if you're using an Intel Mac as it allows you to use a Bootcamp windows installation as a VM when booted to MacOS but still allows you to boot the same OS if you want Windows natively.

VMWare Fusion has fairly recently gone free for personal use which makes it very attractive, especially compared to Parallels Desktops sub mod.

I have Parallels but if this would work I could get rid of it. It would be good if a few mac users could download the trial and see how they go. I am not sure how to get around the "HID not found". Any suggestions?

I'm seeing new remotes out now where you download new codes to PC for editing, updating, or expanding control capabilities. Any Apple fans out there doing the same with PC emulation software (softPC, etc...) to sync up their remote? All of the gear is in a closet behind the monitor, so I have an IR repeater in line. I ultimately want to add lighting control to the mix also, but just wondering if i can use one of these new remotes and take full advantage of the features now available.
