Not suprised that the "Stop" code doesn't work. The codes I provided are ones I use for my Sony DVP-CX985V DVD changers set to Command Mode 1. Your CD player is most certainly operating off a different codeset. That being said, you could try the "Stop" code for Command Modes 2 and 3 to see if either of them work for your CD player.
Below I've provided a link to a XCF file I did up real quick containing the full set of Sony DVD IR codes I use for Command Modes 1-3.
Sony DVD Codesets (Command Modes 1-3):[Link: box.net]I've been using these codes for several years now. They've actually been modified from their original state. This was done as a work around after Philips released a firmware update and the original codes I was using stopped working properly. Said firmware update was for the TSU7000 I was using at the time as I recall. To read about how I modified these codes and why it solved my problem check out this
post. It's an interesting read. In any event, glad I was able to help. Let me know if the "Stop" command for Command Modes 2 or 3 work for your CD player. Would be interesting to know.
