The last TSU9600/RFX9400 I sold, I tracked down through Amazon. That was in mid December.

I know of an offshore source who has stock. He will probably contact you privately. Please don't contact me privately, because I will not divulge the source, but he is a legit regular forum participant.

Why does the Pronto no longer fit the Philips strategy if they also presents themselves with:

"Philips Home Control, a global leader in remote control technology, manufactures remotes for OEMs. Philips has developed many of the industry’s standard protocols (IR or RF) and offers an extensive portfolio of patents that improve the performance, ease-of-use and functionality of remote controls."

with even a new product recently annouced:

Home Control is a different group. The likely truth is that they could not continue to manufacture the control panels cost-effectively and compete with other products. The only way to do this would have been to offshore the manufacturing which was not an option based on the Renault laws.

Some good folks originally from the Pronto devision are now at Home Control.

I'm crossing my fingers that this will eventually help push the Prestigo line into something a little more sophisticated.

Hi Daniel

They could make a Product with a touch screen and 17 hard buttons , wifi extender , and call it a Pronto :) LOL.

I thourght it was a strange press release on the Philips web site about Home Control, and the way they want to integrate different devices was strange timing ...

Its odd that the companies within Philips dont talk to each other, we spoke to the TV devision so many times to try to get them to put a 3.5mm jack on the back of their TVs so IR signals could be directly connected, but they didn't see the point :(

Philips Dynalite need a good inwall dispaly and a remote .... need i say more...

Philips are a very forward thinking company but some times they just seem to miss the simple things :)
Pronto still one of the best Wi-Fi Remotes,

Philips is like the Tower of Babel. One hand has no clue what the other is doing. Merged companies does not get integrated and are more kept as individual units etc. Its a far too big company.

I have a two year old TSU9600 and now the battery is dead. So I found blog here and got battery and did just as said. Problem now is that the remote lights up and seems to work great with new battery but NOW the screen is dark!!!! I tried to reset and checked voltage and all is good. It even is controlling all equipment, if you know where to push on screen.

Any suggestions other than shipping unit in first?

Thanks

If you know how to disassemble the unit, you can try reseating the screen cable.

Does anyone know of any where I can buy a TSW9500? I am based in the UK but would happily ship one in from abroad.

Hi Jason,

This is QualiFi, Australia. We are the Australian distributor and have all models in stock - including the new TSW9500. Retail price in Australia is A$1499 but we can sell it freight paid to the UK for A$780 incl postage. Any duty and VAT is payable by you. We include a simply drywall bracket, but if you want to use it in a brick or concrete wall the dedicated back box (TSW9501) will be required (A$58)
We accept VISA or MC.

I see Philips has now published the firmware for the Pronto Range under an open source agreement - anyone fancy working on this to try and resolve any of the open issues? How about starting a defect log? I for one am having issues with reliable two-way comms and would love to switch from UDP to TCP....
