I've bought another Denon Transport 2500 this one being Region B(I already have the region A working well in my pronto 9600) and for some reason I can seem to get the power on to work. All the other commands work well. I've duplicated the RS232 command page and have assigned the different output port. The Region A is RS232 is on port 3 and the New Region B is Rs232 is on port 2. Everything else works power off etc but not power on. Any help will be appreciated.Im sure im missing something.

The Hex code: 02 20 00 00 00 00 00 03 32 33 Power On

Works well with the region A player but the new one no.

Thanks in advance
Frank
Thanks

Frank

Would the RF9600 be the problem? Every other command works but not that one.
Thanks

Might it be that the player needs a CR at the end of the command?

The Hex code: 02 20 00 00 00 00 00 03 32 33 0D - Power On

My region A works fine so the coding was right but thanks but I was actually just PM'd the solution and i cannot believe I had to simply turn off the Power save option in the player itself. I've been racking my brains for 2 days and it was just something simple like this.
Thanks

im certainly not an expert and I guess if I wasn't PMd the soloution i would of never guessed it. Im still amazed that turning off a power save function in the player fixes the problem.

what I would like to know is how people know this, apart from the obvious been told by other memebers would you say that denon was originally contacted first with the problem?

Cheers
Frank
Thanks

It is written down in the RS232 code description / manual, which you can download from the official Denon website. It took me a few looks, before I saw the little letters in the description :)

And, sometimes, there's actually a settings/setup menu that is described in the manual. In this case, though, it is in the RS232 protocol document itself. However with Denon's Japanese to English translation, things can definitely lose meaning.

I have the Denon 2500 in my file for RS232 control. I have direct track access to the first 20 tracks and a few other things not listed in the control document. The player will respond to the RS232 codes for the DVD-3930 if you add 00 to the string. For example with the Denon DVD-3930 the string for track 7 is 02 4C 32 30 30 37 03 31 38. For the BTCI 2500 its' 02 4C 32 00 30 30 37 03 31 38. I found the command for the DVD-3930 on this site and just figured where to add the zeros. I had to work out the codes for Zoom, Pure Direct, Audio, Dimmer, and a few others that were not listed.

I had a few problems with some functions for the 2500. Almost 90% was working, the other 10% wouldn`t. Finally I did a complete reset (again) and now everything is working perfect. For the people interested: on the web site from Marantz usa, there is an excel sheet for the BD8002 blu-ray player, which happens to use the same rs232 control codes as the Denon 2500 and 3800. This document is much more clearer on the exact codes, compared to the Denon rs232 description, so you dont have to work it out yourself.

It was great Franin. Unfortunately the problem wasn`t the code, but I needed to do a complete hard reset. Happily now everything is working as it should be. Thanks! B.t.w.: I`ve sent you my file, maybe it can be usefull.

Thankyou my friend. I actually had to update to Pronto Edit professional 2 to see yours. How good is that it looks a bit different pronto edit professional 2.
