hi all

first post here, im curently a pronto level 1 programer and have no problems configing a very good useable remote but would like to take it that little further.

2 questions are.

i know nothing about pronto script other than how to import it, so im looking to try and find some body to write me a 2 way over ip script to run " my movies " on my media center pc, this is the link to the software http://www.mymovies.dk/

2nd question.

my xbox 360 config sets all my tv, amp console up and then just displays system ready please use 360 control, i was wondering if it was posible to add a live link image of my gamertag so that displays when the macro is done?

thanks in advance

Hi dave,

I wrote a ProntoScript RPC (remote procedure call) for PC.
With it you can run (start) any program on PC, check wheather a program still runs, shut down the PC etc.
On the PC side you have to install and run a small server program that is written in Java.

Does it help for your first question? If so please contact me via mail.

Regards

Hi Chris (multimedia),

sounds interesting.
do you have a screenshot of your script which shows what is displayed on a TSU9600?
Is it possible not only to start the software?
Is it possible to navigate with your script windows media center edition?
Do you have a sample?

thanks in advance

It is only possible to start a programm and check wheather it is still running. It is NOT possible to navigate in a program or to see the PC screen.
I use the code especially to shut down my PC(s), as I had the problem that sometimes some open programs did not respond. So it is used as part of another action and has no nice and specific GUI.
I'm just working out a little documentation - and have no problem to share it for personal use. ... send me a mail if you want to have a copy.

@dave
So this is definitely not the solution you are looking for...

Hi Chris,

O.K. this seems to be the first step: starting the pc (eventually reboot) with the Pronto script. It would be nice if you can send me the script and if you have a short instruction how to setup the bios and all the other things I have to do.

Thank you very much in advance.

Do you know a script for controlling Windows media center edition?
In this forum there are discussions running but I havn´t seen any real script.
Is this a dream until know?

sounds good.
But how many are interested in this script?
What features should the script have?

I'm also using Mediaportal, I haven't seen any plug-in that make 2-way communication possible. There is a tcp/ip plug-in for Mediaportal to send commands one-way. I use girder for this instead and it works great.

Sure, it would be fun to have a 2-way script for Mediaportal but I don't think it's that useful for me. I use SlimPronto and Squeezeboxes for music, this is a 2-way solution where one has songlists on the Pronto screen. I believe that this is a better solution for music compared to Mediaportal, especially when playing music in several rooms.

I use Mediaportal for TV,movies, pictures but not music. So the projector is always on when I use it and it's easy to navigate with only one-way capabilities when looking at the screen. It could look nicer on the Pronto if one could know what module that is used at the moment in Medialportal, I don't know if one can get that information. I would for example like to show the TV-logos on the Pronto screen when in the TV-module. But this question should maybe be directed to the Mediaportal community instead.

@johanj

I do in the same way. But there is no homogenic user interface.
The idea is to have this. You are wright if you say that you see the pictures, dvds... with your beamer/lcd.
But there is difference in navigation and interface design.
A professional solution should be made with one surface.

Hi,

I'm also interested in the script, even to pay for it.

I would like to have the same capabilities listed in PadOne software, but for movies.

Integration with a media server is not usually a simple task. Especially if you want multiple media types integrated into a single module. Would you be willing to pay more than $100USD per copy for such a module?
