Got the module and it works great. One question though, does it support Pardora?

Yes the update should be out within the next day which adds Pandora support.
Also:

* Now Playing page has had a bit of a coding makeover to help with processor load.

* When playing NetRadio/Rhapsody/Pandora you now get Connecting.. Buffering xx%

* SlimVolume if you use the squeezebox to control your volume level you now get feedback on the screen of the volume level

Hello!
I wanted to try the demo but somehow it is not working. I have installed the Squeezecenter on my PC and added some music files to the library. When I start Softsqueeze Server I can easily connect to that musicserver from another PC. By entering the IP adress and port 9000 I can browse the music, with softqueeze I can play it. I have also verified the WLAN connection of the pronto - I have full connection. I have provided these infos in the settings of the plugin:
SlimServer
192.168.0.1
MAC (mac adress with lower case and :)

But still it only keeps "connecting" and "setting up" but nothing else happens :( Any idea?

192.168.0.1 looks like your routers IP address, are you sure its the IP for the PC where Squeezecenter is installled? It sound like you have an IP address issue, the Prontosqueeze is pretty fool proof otherwise.

Yep, it's the IP of the PC that is running Squeezecenter, my router has .2 ;)
The weird thing is that it works when I test it from another PC with SoftSqueeze - I don't have to state any IP adress there, though.
May the WEP "security" be a reason? I thought as long as the Pronto itself can connect Prontosqueeze shouldn't have any problems either. Just to make sure: the MAC adress has to be the ethernet controller of the PC that is running Squeezecenter, right? But I could also leave that setting empty? Means "MAC ()" or do I have to delete that MAC () and keep it completely empty...?

Big thanks for helping!

I am not familiar with prontosqueeze, but am familiar with Squeezecenter. there should be no need for the pronto to have to know the MAC address of the PC running Squeezecenter.

It does need to know something about the player it is to control. The Squeezecenter supplies several pieces of information about each player it knows about. The player name , it's IP, it's MAC. If no name has been assigned I believe it returns the MAC as the name. Perhaps you need to supply the MAC of the Soft player. This can be seen in Squeezecenter if the soft player is running.

Actually it seems like the WEP security was the problem.. Barry - does your slimpronto work with WEP security enabled? I guess there is still no demo of your tool..?

If I want to use (buy) the prontosqueeze module, is it enough to just buy the Logitech Squeezebox Receiver or do I need to buy the complete duet or other device.

Regards,

De Pampi

You can just buy the receiver (or use the softsqueeze program if your server is also your playback device). Receiver needs to be configured with Net-Udap, here is the link:

With thanks to Barry who posted this information on this forum a while ago!

In theory you could use the SB receiver alone, but config of it is supposed to be done via the duet remote. There are work arounds but they are not user friendly.
My suggestion is to get the SB Classic or Touch.
Buy the module at www.prontoprojects.com.
