Hi...

Just bought a Axim X30 wich i intend to use with Netremote (media center) and maybe Total remote..
I think TR seems tob be the most promising remote software available... and it's also great that Don is participating in this forum... to improve TR....

I've been using different programmable Remotes for a couple of years now.. i'm currently using a marantz RC 3200 (prontoneo with two extra hard buttonns)...
One really good thing about this remote is that it has quite a few hard buttons combined with the lcd...

Just started testing different remote software for my axim .... and th biggest problem for me is funcionallity of hard bottons... as discussed in an earlier thread.. it seems that Dell has screewed up key assignment... because there actually is 6 hard buttons (except d-pad) instead of four on most other PDA:s.... the result in that it is the four leftmost buttons that is available for TR...... quite anoying... Don ... is there any chance that you might consider an option in TR to activate all 6 buttons... for axim.... ??? Would be great.. beacase TR works just great on X30.. otherwise...

/Best Regards
Mats Olsson

Just posted the solution to your problem to Remotecentral.
It should be under DOCUMENTATION.
Look for something with AXIM in the name.
I'm asking myself why bother, because the activities in this forum has almost come to a standstill.

barend,
Where is the documentation section? I can't find it anywhere on RemoteCentral.com.

I'd really like to see your solution to this issue.
Thanks, AximBeholder

I did upload it- Remotecentral did not do anything with it.
Certainly the last time I bothered.
Just send an email [email protected] and I'll attach the little file.

In the words of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, "Oh yeah, HELL YEAH!"

Not only do we work closely with Dell to insure our stuff is compatible with their gear and shows it off to its best potential, but I do personally think that dollar-for-dollar the Axim X3, X30 and a forthcoming X unit represent the best overall value for Pocket PCs in general, and likely the optimum platform for Total Remote.

Give me a chance to lock down the v3.0 release, then we will include some more flexible ways of dealing with the hard buttons. It won't be very soon, but it is on the list of things to do.

hi,

i just ordered a new dell x30 and i was wondering how good the built in IR is & how good does TR work on the dell. I had and X5 and TR didnt workg good at all as well as the built in IR being no good. so i had to go with PDAWIN w/IR Extender. So i was hoping that TR works good w/my new dell

Dell Axim X30 with built-in IrDA port: 25-30 feet with most gear.

I call that usable. :)
