Brad... what does "a treat" mean? Does it work from 15' back. Will it work from under a blanket? Do you have to aim the Palm a certain way to get a good response from your gear? Did it learn all your original remotes and every command?
Thanks for the report. I'd just like more specifics.

i also have an m100 and was pleasantly surprised with the range i get out of it. when i first did some reading on using the palm as a remote i was led to believe i could only get 5-8' out of it. mine works in daylight with the blinds open 20' across the living room and so far has learned any remote i have pointed at it, including 3 tv's; 2 cd players; a cable box; 3 vcrs; a harmon kardon a/v receiver; the big screen at the sports bar and a furby.
the only problem i have found is that the flip cover of the m100 becomes a nuisance when using as a remote, especially since omniremote lets you program the hard keys on the palm to do simple stuff like volume up/down, track ahead/back or power on/off even if the palm is off. which is ideal if you really want to use it as a remote, not a palmpilot.

I am considering getting a Palm, and use as a universal IR remote control is the main reason. I am considering mainly:
Palm IIIxe - 8MB memory - IR port on the "top" edge Palm m105 - 8MB memory - (where is the IR port?) or maybe: Palm m100 - 2MB memory
Does anyone know how the built in IR compares for these models? Which is prefered as an all round PDA - the IIIxe and m105 are very close in price so its tricky.
Anyone know of a good review/comparison web site (not run by a retailer preferably)?
Thanks
Peter
