I am looking for a remote extender and electric dog will not answer my emails or ship my product. I tried calling ccnow their credit card accepting company and they sent them an email saying to contact me when they are going to ship. So in short I want to use pdawins software and I want a remote extender but do not know where to buy one.

If you know how to contact electric dog Dave Houston can you please pass on the message that I would like my order shipped. I am asking you because it seems that you know them personally seeing you are sure they are not out of business.

Man, I feel your frustration.

For the record, my PDAwin/PDA-ir combo works for me, I just wish I was dealing with more professional companies. If I found another PDA solution that supported CCF files, I'd switch in a heartbeat.

That being said, your options are limited. I don't think you can order the PDA-ir anywhere but electric dog. Ultramote makes a CF IR extender but the website says specifically that it only works with Ultramote software (no CCF support).

So, here's what you're left with:

You can use an IR Extender solution such as this:

or if you are a DIYer, you can build this awkward looking thing:

[Link: pdawin.com]

or, if you are a serious DIYer, you can modify your iPaq like this:

[Link: svenketel.de]
(it's in German, but you'll get the idea)

I think there is someone on this board named Wilhelm who has actually done the iPaq mod. If I didn't already have the PDA-ir, I'd consider it. From the pictures, it looks really good. No CF sleeve, no card, just the 'naked' iPaq.

Anyway, good luck to you. Regards. Jay.

The german web site actually translates pretty well with babelfish.

YOu can get some very high power and dispersion (angle) IR-LEDs from digikey.com.

How am I supposed to contact anybody when I have no idea what your name is or what your order number is?

If you will post your name, address, and order number, I'll see what I can do.

Electric Dog tells me they received your order on Dec 28. That's 10 days later than you said you placed the order.

They received your e-mail a bit after 1500 yesterday. You complained here that they would not respond about 4 hours after you first sent the e-mail.

I think you have unreasonable expectations.

Yes I apologize for being wrong on the date I typed 18th instead of 28th. But that is a long time not knowing what is on the go from the 28th till the 8th.
That is 11 days with no response saying we received the order we will ship blah blah blah . I just think they should contact and say we will ship in the new year
