Hi,

I am new to crestron and would need some advices regarding some issues. I notice that to use crestron devices and android control, all the ip add needs to have the same first 3 addressing. I came with a problem as my phone ip auto goes to 192.168.1.xxx thus i need to set my crestron devices to 192.168.1.xxx too. however at toolbox i am unable to see my devices via LAN once i set their ip to 192.168.1.xxx. anyone able to advice me how to go about doing this? thanks.

You know that your whole system will have to be programmed for the Android, so you may as well call your installer/an installer to do everything correctly.

i've done the program already. done everything except that i'm unable to load in as i can't see anything via LAN as i'm having problems with the ip addressing. as for the android mobile, once the addressing is all uniform, i'll just have to connect it and control it using my mobile right?

Make sure that the IP of the router is actually 192.168.1.xxx and not something different.

My guess is that it is something different (possibly 192.168.0.xxx) thus creating the problem that you cannot see any Crestron devices when you alter their IP address
You can't fix stupid

On the crestron ap, you are putting in the address of the processor, the IP address of the mobile device doesn't matter.
do wino hue?

you wont be able to see your crestron processor or any other panels for that matter while using toolbox, as they are on a different subnet from the rest of the network. When getting used hardware and setting it up for a system, the best thing to do FIRST, is to connect via serial or usb, etc (NOT NETWORK!) and configure the IP addresses of all devices accordingly. Once this is done, the IP table for corresponding devices may or may not have to be modified as well. As for the Android control, this will only work if you have the logic for a mobile app in the SIMPL programming. It is not exactly as simple as getting everything on the same network and having it all work. The control processor needs to be programmed accordingly as well, so that when the mobile app reaches out to the processor, the phone then can be directed to the touch panel file that it needs to look at.
