I have a stupid light for the stairway/hall that has three switches. Can I put a regular DIM-EX on one of them and then a P-CBD-AD at each of the other two locations? Is there an easier way? I know they now have a slave dimmer, but I have some extra CBD-AD that I am not using and would like to use those instead of ordering some more products.

No I asked TB about this and for 3 way capabilities you have to use the slave. It also has to be installed at the location FROM the panel. If you have a 4 way then you have to install 2 slaves prior to a DIM-EX-P keypad
You can't fix stupid

I don't know why it wouldn't work other than the limits that SB puts on programming the CBD-AD. Basically, you would make it just a regular single switch lighting load, then put on/off/raise/lower buttons on each of the CBD/AD's for that lighting leg.

The CBD-AD requires the P-MNET-Gateway. I don't think the two gateways talk to each other. The older prodigy switches were not EX dimmers/switches.

I am using some thermostats, so I have the MNETGW installed already.

I put a little more thought into this and I don't see why this wouldn't work. All you would need to do is make sure you have 120 volts (hot and a neutral) in the box you want to put the CBD-AD. You will probably have to take out the existing switch and wire nut one of the travelers going to the 3/way switch to make it constant 120 volts in the other box. All the programming is done in the PMC2 so this should work. Both gateways talk to the same processor.

This is how they said to do it in training.

This doesn't make sense. The EX gateway is built-in and the mnet-gateway exists for the tstat, old lighting and keypads. Of course you can use both at the same time.

As I said earlier, install the dimmer as a normal single pole lighting leg.
Make the hot going to the 3-way switches a normal hot.

Install the keypads as normal programable keypads that you can program to do whatever you want.

Program on/off to turn that lighting load on/off and the up and down arrows as raise/lower lights.

You could set the 3 extra buttons as scenes or still use them for audio or whateve the hell you want.
