You would have been better off asking in the other thread of this topic, because you do not have a URC remote and this forum is for URC remotes.

I don't know whether Maranatz Wizz.it understands the 900A condensed form of Pronto Hex from post 6 of that other thread. If you also don't know, try it and see if it works.

If it doesn't work, I'll find time to redo that .irp file. If the 900A form does work, you can directly put each documented Tvix command into 900A form as shown in that other thread.

Im using MX-900 editor software, I'm trying to get custom hex codes into the editor via the universal browser. The direct hex entry is not showing up on my universal browser i have already done the Live update (now the icon for live update has disappeared) and still nothing shows up. I went to Pronto.philips.com to download Pronto edit (where i was directed to go by philips tech service) I've never worked with pronto edit, or used a pronto product, so i haven't a clue how to us it to enter hex codes. Can anyone lead me in the right direction.

There are several threads in this forum that tell non Pronto users the basics of getting hex codes into a CCF file via ProntoEdit. Those shouldn't be hard to find with a forum search.

What codes are you trying to put in? And where did you get them from? (A URL is the best type of answer to that).

Depending on the type, number and source of the codes, you may find that MakeHex plus IrPanels is an easier path to getting your codes into a CCF file than ProntoEdit.

Others in this forum may have an answer to why direct entry of hex in Universal Browser isn't available to you and how you might fix that. I haven't a clue about that part.

Dear johnsfine:

Just got an MX-900 and need to load discrete codes for input selection on an Olevia 437 LCD TV (there are no buttons on the remote for this - only a toggle to cycle through the inputs - hence I can't use the 'learn' function).

I found a link at the site below that suggests several EFC/OBC codes for this purpose, but I do not know how to convert these to the appropriate hex strings for use in the MX-900 editor.

[Link: hifi-remote.com]

One of these gave a pointer to a *.rmdu file that had the following codes in it:

NAME ----EFC / EFC5 / OBC / HEX ----NOTES
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Composite 1 Input----164 / 00164 / 68 / DD ----Switches to Composite 1 Input
Composite 2 Input----168 / 00168 / 69 / 5D ----Switches to Composite 2 Input
S Video 1 Input ----166 / 00166 / 70 / 9D ---- Switches to S Video 1 Input
S Video 2 Input ---- 170 / 00170 / 71 / 1D ---- Switches to S Video 2 Input
Component 1 Input----037 / 00037 / 72 / ED ----Switches to Component 1 Input
Component 2 Input ---- 041 / 00041 / 73 / 6D ----Switches to Component 2 Input
VGA Input ---- 039/ 00039 / 74 / AD----Switches to VGA Input
HDMI Input ---- 040 / 00040 / 77 / 4D----Switches to HDMI Input
Tuner Input ---- 171 / 00171 / 67 / 3D----Switches to Tuner Input

I noted that you appear to know how to map various codesets to each other. Is there a way to go from these codes to ones appropriate for use with the Olevia via the MX-900, and can you share the method with me if you know how?

Thanks in advance

DT

I read through that thread and I couldn't figure which posts were about Olevia models using NEC1 Device=4 vs. models using NEC1 Device=4.185 vs. other code sets.

To get those into your MX-900 to test:

Get MakeHex and either IrPanels or Hex2CCF
makehex.zip [Link: hifi-remote.com]
[Link: remotecentral.com]
[Link: remotecentral.com]

Edit the NEC1.irp file (from MakeHex.zip) to change the device to either 4 or 4.185 (either figure out which was meant in the section of that thread you were reading, or try both).

Drag/Drop NEC1.irp icon onto MakeHex.exe icon, which will create NEC1.hex

Use either NotePad+IrPanels or command prompt + Hex2CCF to convert the .hex contents to a CCF file.

Open the .ccf in Universal Browser and drag functions from it. The OBC numbers from the thread and/or the .rmdu file tell you which numbered buttons in the ccf file to drag from.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't had time to test it, but when I do I'll let you know how things went.
