I found its the same as the 3806. Only difference is on 3806 one input was VDP and on the 3808 its now labeled HDP. But its the same codes.

I have just gone through and created this for my new 3808. I used a combo of codes from the 3806 and 5805. I found discrete codes for DVR (the Denon remote makes you push it twice to get to DVR) as well as others. If you still need it, I'd be happy to export what I created and send it to you. Just let me know.

I have my 3808 using the internet radio and music server. Internet Radio is very easy to setup. For music, I have a Mac, so I had to use Twonky Media Server, but it seems to work great.

As for the buttons, there isn't much that is needed. Navigation controls and such. You can set things as presets and the put the presets in the remote I believe. Haven't gone that far yet but may soon.

Any chance you have the 232 codes for the 3808?

Sure don't. Don't have mine hooked up that way, sorry.

For many of the functions in there, I just hooked the MX-900 up to my laptop and then went through different Denon receivers in the database to see what worked. You might try going through the 58xx or 48xx to see what you can find. Might get you some of them.

If you do get them figured out or find them, please let me/us know. I'm sure I will get to them myself eventually.

Tonight I went to Denon's site and found the serial protocols. Looks like all Denon receivers use the same 232 codes. I dont know why I couldnt get the 3808 to work via 232 yesterday. But I didnt try to trouble shoot it long. I was 2 hours from home, trying to finish an install where I had already set up the receiver last week using IR codes, and had too much other stuff to get done to sit and fix something that was already working.

But on several 2807's and 2307's Ive made them work 232 with no problems.
