I've heard off adding ferrite cores to either ends of the line between the MRF and RFX in separate threads. It seems adding to the MRF would take care of RFI going into it but adding to the RFX would take care of any RFI leaving the MRF towards the RFX? Any thoughts?
Does anyone know what the range on the RFX-150 is? Is it considered a no brainer to use an RFX-250 in lieu of a 150?
I just switched over from installing logitech - kinda, sorta.
With all of the above factored in, my RFX150 and MRF300 have constant LED activity on the RF (after removing everything/set to 0/powering down/etc). So, I've got a ton of RF interference in my rack room. Sadly, I don't think I can upgrade to an MRF350 (my MX3000 has a 2004 manufacture date).
Any ideas (short of buying a NEW MX3000 and MRF350 without knowing IF they'll work)?
Is it possible to use cat5 or something similar to make a long antenna cable? I might be able to run the antenna into the attic and possibly have less RF interference there (as I have smurf tube from rack room into attic).
Use Cat5 to connect the antenna unit to the base unit. Use all eight wires. Connect all the striped wires to the GRND. Use two of the solid colors for the voltage and the other two for the Data. I was having a bad RF problem, connected the antenna this way and had no more issues.
