Easily reproduced on YOUR remote WP. More intermittent
and strange on other remotes. Plus, a little different
on each person's remote, except perhaps for the firing
of the IR on the second button press every time.

I don't use IR, so YMMV, but others here like Mitch have said that their remotes act like mine and are easy to reproduce the problem on.

If you're not using IR you may very well have an intermittent RF problem somewhere else ... but if the remote isn't detecting the push (not turning on back light?) and doing whatever it does to indicate that it's transmitting a code ... it's probably the same issue.

This problem has nothing to do with RF or IR as far as I can tell. When a button is pressed and the remote registers that button press the LCD screen on LCD buttons will highlight the text next to that button indicating that it has registered the button press. When a button press fails the text on the LCD screen does NOT highlight indicating that the remote did not register the button press.

I haven't done extensive testing on other non LCD buttons but I would be willing to bet that when one of those buttons fail it doesn't register on the LCD screen either. For example, if you press the dedicated "FF" button on the remote it also displays "FF" at the bottom of the LCD screen. When the button press fails you would see no "FF" on the LCD screen.

Ooops - I am using IR, I confused IR with RF! Sorry

That's right, I can verify that.

Well, I just received a new MX-900 for beta testing a couple of hours ago. I'll let you know how it goes.

Greg do you mean a new remote or a new beta software version?

Greg,

I hope you have better luck then I did. I downloaded the latest Beta update and tested it both last night and tonight and the problem is still there. The failed button press did seem to be less frequent but none the less it still exists. Needless to say I wasn't a happy camper.

Now everytime I pickup my trusty bullet proof MX-700, which I now use in the bedroom, I contemplate about placing the MX-900 under the rear wheel of my Toyota Tundra just prior to backing out of the garage. Do you think URC would cover the damages (or should I say total destruction) under warranty considering the circumstances?

Is there special beta software? Or are you just downloading what is on the URC site? Or just LiveUpdating what you have to 1.10.086, which is the latest update?

I was not sent a link to any beta software.

There's special Beta Software that you will have to get from URC if they are willing to give it out. I'm not sure what URC's policy is on this but I asked Eric if he would let me use it for testing purposes only.

You won't be able to get any live updates with the currently released software. Only with the beta version. When a new beta version is available for download I will download and test it and then post my findings here.

Stay tuned!

Yes. I agree. There's still some more fine tuning that needs to be done to get it just right.

The engineers are working on it and a new beta should be out shortly. The last beta improved things quite a bit.
