MX-1200, CCP, and the IR Emitter on the Remote Itself

Long time lurker, and I have what should be somewhat of a quick question.
My understanding is that the MX-1200, among others, has a built in IR emitter on the REMOTE ITSELF?
Is this a true statement? I hope so, because here is my issue:

I swear, I cannot get the MX-1200 to emit IR. In the "RF" section of CCP, I specify IR only for the device(s). I've tried it all, IR/RF, IR, only one device, only another device, all devices. Pointing directly AT the equipment, nada. It's not the codes, the remote seems to NOT X-mit IR by itself. I thought it could....
Heck, I even took my iphone camera, pointed it at other IR remote controls, and can see the IR emitting, but when I do it to the MX-1200, no IR emitting. I really wonder what the heck I am doing here.
As a final straw, I broke down and ordered another 350/receiver combo to connect the emitters to the equipment directly.
But. I was really really really hoping not to do that for only a TV and APPLE TV combo on the wall. I am fairly proficient with CCP, but apparently not? Anyone got advice? Thanks for your help.
That's what toys are for...

Sounds like you did the correct diagnostics. IR out on the remote is dead. Add a base station or replace the remote.

On other URC remotes when there's an IR output fail, RF doesn't work either. Like the mxw920 waterproof remotes.

I love the way folks always recommend replacing the remote. We repair them all the time. Simply open it up and check the IR TX, replace it if required. Some have 2 IR Transmitters, we see 1 go all the time and they are in series so the other will not work. They are easy enough to test with an Ohm Meter. Electronic issues are more difficult.

So how about a link to an appropriate IR TX for a replacement.
