I love the way folks always recommend replacing the remote for the slightest problem without any fault finding recommendations. We repair them all the time. Simply open it up and check the IR TX, replace it if required. Some have 2 IR Transmitters, we see 1 go all the time and they are in series so the other will not work. They are easy enough to test with an Ohm Meter. Electronic issues are more difficult.
