hello i just got an mx980/mrf260 3 days ago and everything is setup but i have 2 questions

1. i have a ps3 with dino blue wave ir dongle how do i learn the ir for this thing? (dino)

2. i have a power on macro that turn my dvr, tv & amp on (switch inputs too)
and I use others buttons to fire up my dvd, cd, etc
my power off macro turn my dvr, tv & amp off but i would like to use if/else or if/then statements to check if dvd is on then turn it off (if not dont)
i only have discrete on/off on my lights and amp so id like to know how to do that.
thx jack

Your best bet is to contact the person that program your remote b/c
You win some, you loose some...

I programmed the remote I don't like having people setting my stuff even if it works fine, i need to understand.
I read the previous 6-7 pages of this forum and started from there.
I use simple statement like beep, jump to, alias & delay but the if/then seems to be a little more complicated.
Some guys out here are using their ps3 via dino with the mx980.
I just need to do a couple of if/else statement on 1 power off macro and learn ir for my ps3.
I'm sure I can do it if someone explain it.
thanks

Learning IR codes is one of the simpliest things you can do on a remote (Step 4 from the Program menu). If you can do macro programming as stated above, learning should be piece of cake.

As far as IF / Else..............see if this helps

It may be one one the simpliest thing to do but I don't know how to do it, I guess I need some codes to do it. I've figured out that step 4 of the program menu is "learning ir" but my question is how do I learn it? It might sound like a silly question but I'm new to universal remotes.

For the if/else I'm going to try it out.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Jack

CTRL-4

Choose the button in the software editor (click the remote button you are learning to)

Press Learn in the Learn IR window

Point OEM remote at LED of MX remote and press the desired button

Test

Save

Those PS3 adaptors are hit or miss....good luck.

p.s. make sure the mx is fully charged and the oem has new batteries.

Thanks a lot tweeterguy, it worked. (It's easy as long as you know how to do it)
If I hold up/down it does'nt scroll. (Left and right as well)
I got 350 albums stored in my ps3 and I have to hit the buttons once everytime I want scroll. (It would take me hours to get to the bottom of the list!)
Is there anyway to fix that? (All others component scroll with the navigation keys)
Or is it just the way it's meant to work? (The blue wave remote DOES scroll)
Thanks,
Jack.
