I just received my tx 1000 in the mail yesterday and now read about the software problems and the remote works in test mode and that is all. anyone know where i can get the older software VER 1.10.086 Firmware 1.40.

The approach from URC is to keep the remotes off eBay and all of that, in support of the channel of custom installers. If you buy from an unauthorized source, you do not get the upgradeable software. This is pourposeful on behalf of URC. They do not want these remotes sold on eBay, etc.
So, if you buy from an unauthorized source then you pay the piper, unfortunatley. If you buy from an authorized source then your "authorized" dealer can supply you with the latest and the greatest software.

So where can I find the older version of the software? My remote's IR is disabled now that I used the downloadable software. I tried various search engines and can't find any links. I'd much rather have the latest software but Tweeter told my wife it was $100's. What a ripoff.
