Hello, I have encountered a strange problem. I just recently purchased a TX-1000 and as soon I as download (send configuration to remote control) thinking all my setting, buttons and macros were sent. The remote will not communicate. So I would upload to check configuration from remote to make sure everything is there and I noticed everytime the RF Control settings has return to "RF". I have set them to "IR" or "IR & RF" but never just "RF". I called URC today and he was stumped. Said, try reinstalling the software, (I did), Try teaching it differently, (I did) but no matter what after uploading the remote would returned to "RF" in the RF Control settings. I should mention at the moment I am only trying to communicate direct line of sight.

Update on situation: I have downloaded an older version from some other website and the software works fine. I've called URC and they tell me they are going to let the engineers know. It would be nice to have the newer version for more features to use, (which is why I purchased the TX-1000 in the first place). Does anyone know if the VER ? on URC is working yet? The older verison I'm using is VER 1.10.086 Firmware 1.40

Thanks!

Eric, are you out there for any help??

How nice they are to give the installers a software package that works, but for the guy that goes out and purchases an expensive remote from URC (who could have purchased from anyone else) they give them software that doesn't work. I guess I lose (spelled with one o)

Hey, sourpuss, go talk to the store that you bought it from. They can get you the software. Anyway I am certain your software is fine. Keep fighting it, you will figure it out.

Hey Sourpuss? Where do get off calling me names? Is this the kind of responses I should expect from a so called senior members here on this site. Does this site allow people criticizing others? If you haven't tried using the software yourself then don't try to tell me that the software is fine. If you read my first post here you would have read that the older verison works. Just the verison on their site with the lastest verison doesn't. AND if you bothered to investigate you would have noticed I wasn't the first to have this problem with that verison. I was told to re-post this problem here under this form in hope that Eric Johnson might see it. So please keep your opinon to yourself unless you're willing to help!

The reason the Installer's receive better software is to keep these remotes in a more "custom" market. Universal offers other remotes that are targeted toward the regular consumer. If you, as a standard consumer, had access to the same software as I do, as a custom installer, how could I charge for "custom" programming.

Consumers can get the exact same software if they buy authorized.

Well I'm a Dumb A$$ - I know that I have the software problem, I have just downloaded (again) the software for my TX1000 and it is apparently the old version with no live update.
Editor 1.10.105
Firmware 1.47
IR Db 1.80
Since I'm a programmer by trade, I didn't have any issues building the program I wanted and all the devices work from test, but none work after uploading the program.
Sounds like a known issue.
The reason that I'm not too smart is that I do not have the records for where I purchased the unit from, so I can't ask them for the latest version!
Since it's my fault, I'll gladly pay one of you Pro's to send me the newer stuff so I can get the unit functioning again. (it did work until I made some changes in the program)

Nevermind - It's me again.
I found the older version on line and downloaded it.
Works like a charm!
I wonder why they don't put a working version on line when you register?
Not a "Pro" version, but at least one that does not have a bug!

Sorry, this is an English forum, I doubt many people here will be able to help. Although that doesn't mean there's nobody that speaks Spanish, but the numbers are probably few and far between.

If you can use English it'd be very helpful.

Hey HiTechRedneck,

You encountered the same problems I had with the URC online version too. There was another guy on forum "Universal Remote Control Inc" who experienced the same issues. I don't want anyone to lose money in their profession here. Just would be nice if URC could at least put a working software version on their site. I also purchased mine in a place where I have no one to ask about an updated version, I purchased my online. Not knowing that working software might be hard to come by. All I knew before I purchased the controller was URC had a site to download software for the controller and I liked the features the TX-1000 offered. All I know now is that the older version works fine except you lose a couple of neat features they had made to the newer version. Oh well, at least the controller still works.
