Agreed that Amazon.ca's price was the worst, but it's at least directly comparable to Amazon.com (and usually their prices are slightly better than Future Shop's, at least on less popular stuff).

Hope you did not take my post wrong, we do tend to get ripped off on movies and now with the dollar at par or above, it makes it even harder to swollow. I just found it odd that you used Avatar for the rant when you take everything into consideration it is one of the few where we did not get screwed on it.

As for ca vs comm. Whta I have found is that com tends to always be the lowest in the US (either matches or beats it) because they tend to match other sites. On the other hand, like I said before, the few titles that I did compare earlier on there was always someons that had it lower. That is why I hate the com vs ca comparisons, ca does not try to be competitive.

Zellers was the best deal, but there's actually no Zellers close by to me, and you'd still have to find something else to buy on another trip (fine if you're a frequent Zellers shopper, but I haven't been to one for a decade).

I don't know if it was, the reason I knew the Zellers and FS was that even though I love this movie I told myself I won't triple dip this movie since we know there will be an other release with extras and extended scenes and we know there will be a 3D version, both of which are much more interesting, but 27$ with a 10$ GC and in exchange of a game made it extremely enticing to the point where I almost cracked. But having received two packages , on Monday 5 movies I bought from BB some weeks earlier but where out of stock when they had 5$ titles and Thursday 10 movies from SIG which had a decent sale on some decent titles, I kept my cool and decided to wait. Plus my sister bought so for once if I want to see a movie I can borrow it from them.

The news keeps trying to tell us how good it is to have a Canadian dollar at parity, but historically we do not see proper representative savings in the cost of imported goods (which is the ONLY REASON a high dollar would be worthwhile), and otherwise it severely hurts all exporters along with the tourism and film industries, as your products/services end up being significantly more expensive to everyone else.

agree, like I said before, I just found this an odd choice of movie for the rant. Since in theory you could buy it here for less then amazon.com.

PS I don't know if you care or have looked but sometimes amazon.uk ends up being a better deal since they don't charge the insane shipping .com charges.

PPS don't know if you want, but if you do, I don't mind posting interesting deals I find, like when I bought the LOTR trilogy from FS for 18.99 , that one in itself paid for many times we get screwed on other titles :)
