I understand you might be another crestron fan boy but with all your respect sir I think for you to compare the prodigy series to the xp8 is just wrong. with other lower end rti processor yeah but not their xp8.

Umm, did you even read my post?? Let me quote it again, the same thing you quoted, but see if you can get it this time.

As others have said. An XP-8 has the same MSRP as a full series 2 Crestron processor which can run circles around the XP8. The PMC2 Prodigy processor can run circles around every other RTI processor. I think the PRodigy system as a whole can be on par with and in some ways outshine a medium sized XP8 System.

So, just to be clear, I'm not saying the PMC2 is better than the XP8, but a Crestron Series 2, like a CP2E ( [Link: crestron.com] ) Is WAY more powerful in its overall ability than an XP8 and they both go for about the same price.

can you answer this for me.. what's the maximum of DA zones you can have with either prodigy and xp8.

Well lets see, you can use the Prodigy PAMp and do up to 12 zones with 6 sources, BUT its also Crestron and open architecture, so it could take any decent Audio matrix that provides control and control easily 16 or more zones depending on the matrix. Also, any matrix that can provide feedback the prodigy system can utilize it. The limit that Prodigy does have is a maximum of 18 control interfaces, well maybe 24 if you use the lighting keypads as well:
6-PTX3's, 6-PTL4's, 6-Audio Keypads, 6 Lighting keypads. 1-iPhone/touch, 1-Xpanel

RTI can control the same matrices, however can only provide feedback from Autopatch and Vaux, currently.

This is where I point out that if you are doing more than 12 zones of audio and need more thatn 18 or so interface options, then Adagio will fit right it and can be very competitive to an RTI system at this price point.

As for being a fan boy, I love RTI. I have for a long time, however I don't get to sale very many XP8's, but I do sale a fair number of $1k theater room control system wiht 4-8 zones of DA (usually Niles ZR6 level). We are new Prodigy dealers, but the more I learn the more I Like. I was very excited when RTI first released there 2-way products (finally) and then quickly felt let down.

We are not full line Crestron dealers and just last month put in an XP8 system with some T2C remotes. RTI will always be my 2nd choice.
do wino hue?
