If you already have a cable, then you'd be crazy not to use it. The wav method is time-consuming and more complicated and error-prone. I don't know of an intro, but you basically just choose "Export to WAV" in the IR software and pick "Upgrade" on the remote. Making and formatting upgrades and using the IR, RM, and KM programs are in those beginner threads I told you about. You'll need to understand all of that stuff anyway for both cable and wav upgrades.
