I have had the same issue. URC actually documented it - it had something to do with updating the current firmware with certain VISTA/W7 along with virus software. Tried two of them - same thing. It had nothing to do with the ipod. I had my customer do the firmware update on his end (with XP) and it worked perfectly using the same ipod. Other than getting a case # that's all I really did about it.
