Or you could do it right and buy a custom remote. This way you could even power on all TVs at once, change volume independently, and of course control the directv independently.
That's assuming he ran proper wiring along with the audio/video cables.
Which brings me to this point. Having 7 TV's I would hope with completely Hidden wires, Did you run conduit or do you have access to adding additional wiring?
The T3v would be the most elegant, also adding a nice in RK3 or even a RK1-8 controller would be cool to. Especially in a "sports bar" setting.
But at a minumum a URC 880 solution could get you by.
