Bent charging plugs have shown up on 2 or 3 of the remotes we've done. One was obviously dropped (jack was at a significant angle and plug was also bent), one was shut in a cabinet door (at the admission of the owner), and I seem to recall a third one having trouble also, but I don't remember details.

I'm not at all saying that you are to blame, just letting you know that it has shown up before. IMHO, anytime a jack and plug such as these are used, bending of the center wire is a possibility.

Now about the 980 being ugly...now we're going to have a "discussion"...;)
