It is a quality issue, mine also broke, but a couple months later, the idea of the plug is stupid.

Their is a simple and cheap 10 dollar fix, check out my thread, I purchased a plug in charger, it also came with the same battery that the mx-810 uses, so i basically plugged the charger in, it fit perfectly into the wall, and was tiny. I left one battery in, used the other, when one was low, i just swapped them, and you have full power again in a second. Its much better then any charging method when you have a spare battery always charged. Literally takes 10 seconds and your at full power for a few days. When that one dies, just switch them, put the dead one in the charger, and the other in your remote.
