No solution for the CCP issue but this is how you go back to the standalone editor.

MX-880 latest version:

1. Remote 1 battery from the remote
2. Press & Hold the "Power On & Mute" at the same time
3. Insert the battery - Remote will power up
4. Release the buttons - remote will display a message on the screen that says "unable to find system files - please download using software.."
5. Connect remote to standalone editor & download a blank config
6. Re-download your file
