I recently switched my programing over from the mx-880 editor to the ccp and everything was fine.. Now I just replaced my tv updated the remote with the new tv.. still everything is fine.
Over the last couple days, I have tweaked a few things.. moved a few buttons around and everytime I try to download the programing to the remote the CCP screen goes white and I get an error that CCP Editor has stoped working..
I have tried everything from going back and undoing my changes one by one to see if I could pinpoint what was causing the error, charging up the remote to a full battery, trying on a different PC, and restoring the remote to factory settings... Does anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks in advance!

Update...
I was able to go back through my changes and made them one by one updateing the remote each step and I have pinpointed what is causing the problem..
On the Watch/ Listen pages, I can change the macros or the titles that are associated with any on the buttons.. but the second that I change one of the images it corrupts the file and causes CCP to fail when I try to load the file to the remote..
I am on the current version of CCP. 1.3.024.0812
Also, I cannot use MX-880 editor at all now that I have used CCP

Also, I cannot use MX-880 editor at all now that I have used CCP No solution for the CCP issue but this is how you go back to the standalone editor. MX-880 latest version: 1. Remote 1 battery from the remote 2. Press & Hold the "Power On & Mute" at the same time 3. Insert the battery - Remote will power up 4. Release the buttons - remote will display a message on the screen that says "unable to find system files - please download using software.." 5. Connect remote to standalone editor & download a blank config 6. Re-download your file

What would you say is the advantage of CCP ?
I currently have a MX880 like yourself and use the standalone programming application. I was thinking of perhaps changing over to CCP, but don't know what the benefits would be.
Having used both yourself now, what would you say is the advantages of moving ? or, would you stay on the standalone ?
Roy.

Thanks Remotejr.. the only problem is that the MX-880 has a single rechargeable battery so that doesn't appear to be possible.
The only reason that I switched to CCP is that the MX-880 editor was giving me a text overlay of channel names over the images of my favorite channels. The CCP fixed that.. also the ability to undo in CCP comes in handy once and awhile..

I have always had the understanding that any file created in a stand alone app would not work if opened and modified in CCP..

Roy. One of the few things I like better....you can copy /paste individual pages from one remote to the other (without having to import the entire device.) Also, it does save time to not have to open/close individual configurations within a home.

We just did a job with 2 MX 5000, 2 MX 980, MSC 400 and 2 MRF 260. All programing is in 1 file now. It makes it so much easier to work with.

It makes it so much easier to work with. Yes, and it makes modifying multiple controllers very efficient, which of course helps to quiet the mind and make your day much less stressful! For example, when you discover an improvement you can make to your macros or graphics, or whatever, it is less time consuming to make global design modifications. You can SEE everything without opening and closing windows/ editors, minimizing, maximizing and all of that nonsense. It empowers the programmer to keep the system more organized and uniform as a whole, saving time, and ultimately improving overall performance and intuitiveness for the client. There are of course the little things that bug me though, like you can no longer drag a button from one page to the other, you have to add a button then copy/ paste and so on. But maybe they will fix this soon? HE HE HEM......:-)
