Save yourselves a lot of trouble and go ahead and buy the Logitech Universal 670 remote. I had trouble with the piece of crap remote that came with my new Direct Tv system. It would not program my old JVC receiver that I use for my surround sound. I called customer service and they tried to walk me through setting it up with over 20-30 codes. None worked and finally the cust serv rep said they can never get the remotes to program receivers. The Logitech Universal 670 remote took all of 5 minutes to program all of my equipment. This remote comes with a download disc and a USB cord, all you need is the make and model number from each of your components including your Direct Tv receiver. ONE REMOTE WORKS ALL!!
