I didn't try your suggestion although I will when I get around to it just to see if it works. Instead, I connected my Radiance to the RFX9600 via serial and created a Radiance RS232 device in MyDatabase. The serial codes are much more simple to work with in the case of both my Radiance and Meridian processor. They are only one or two ASCII entries long. In the case of the R you don't even have to add a carriage return.

Now that I've got these devices hooked up and working via serial, I've got to get some prontoscripts working with them! The M echos all its commands so I guess I just need to figure how to do a global script and then attach codes to indiviual buttons. I think it's the same for the R.
