Box.......nothing !!!

Also tried it with handshake '@G' and '@Q' again nothing.

Just to check..its a straight serial cable ie. 1 to 1,
2 to 2 etc.

I will have to speak to Fujitsu after the holiday...

see if they can shed some light on the subject

Do not despair Roy! You should be able to get communication with the Fujitsu Plasma in no time:

First you must send the "communication star command" that enable control by RS-232. Once this command have been received successfully, you can confirm it by trying your Plasma IR remote; it should not work, since once you establish communication with RS-232 the IR control gets disable.

You should try to communicate with another application; like Windows Hyper Terminal first. Then try others commands while you at it. At the end you must remember that you must disable the RS-232 to have the Plasma working with IR: that could also be done by resetting the Plasma cutting the power.
