Thanks everyone for all your assistance.

I have finally managed to get the unit to communicate.
Tried it with a third PC running XP MCE and it worked
first time! I was aware of the porblem with Vista on
the first PC, the second was running XP Pro (are there
any documented problems with this???) and the third XP
MCE.

Was begining to think I had purchased a dud!
