Currently there's only 3 ways to control the PS3...
* Stock BT controllers
* Optional BT movie remote
* IR dongle system as described in my article
There's no other external control capabilities at this time.
A company is releasing a simpler IR system for the PS3, which integrates into a single USB-key sized device, however it offers no additional capabilities.
