By the universal browser do you mean the Complete Control Suite? What kind of drag and drop are you talking about?
The pronto files are direct from the manufacturer and are specifically for my unit (the .mxd file that is here is for an older model - I figured it would be a decent start) - so I think using the ccf files would be better - but I'm unclear about where the files are droped to on the MX900 Editor.
