This same cable I have works fine with and older MX-3000
so I either have the wrong cable or a bad remote. I have
read a number of threads about newer and older cables
but I had the impression that the connecter type had changed.
If URC is correct, then my issue may be solved.

The cable I have is black with a small RF choke. The connector
is sheilded on three sides with a "spring" tab on one
side and a raised guide on the unsheilded (plastic) side.
The cable has four pins.

URC said the "filter" is different???

The cable I use also has a choke, 4 pins on computer side, and 5 pins on device side.
The choke(i.e. EMI filter) is not wired, just clamped onto line, so different filter?
I also looked at a few other mini usb cables I have and the pinouts are the same.
So it does seam they are standard.
But if you have another mx-3000 that works?
Maybe you have bad remote.
As far as the spring tab, that maybe URCs way to make sure you only use their cable?
But it's best to wait for the cable from URC.
They know their remotes(or you would think).
So if they say that you need a differerant cable, who am I to disagree?
But let me know(for curiousity sake), if their new cable works, or not.

Good luck.
