I too have an MX -300 with no serial number under the battery.
Oh well....
I guess I'll look at something else as this remote was bought for me by my wife about 2 yrs ago. It got shelved until now as a project because of some other "life events". Now no updated software. It still has the plastic on the screen. This sucks.
