can you not find a discrete code for you input select? Discrete codes trigger the desired action directly rather than relying on cycling through multiple commands.

These discerete codes are certainly available on most models, especially major brands like Sony, even though they are not necessarily packed inside your original remote control.

Do a search in Google and here in this forum (or in Remote central's file section) for the model number of your TV along with the word "discrete" and you may very well have a better solution than cycling through the inputs.
