Just a quick but very large THANK YOU to those concerned for helping me out with this problem. Disabling the IPv6 protocols worked a treat and after a quick firmware update, I can now close the doors on my AV cupboard and stop the wife "nippin ma heed".
Brodyboy seems to be correct with his point that the IPv6 causes no end of network problems because as it happens, disabling it has also sorted out a problem I was having communicating with a network printer and NAS hard drive. Both would come and go as they please, sometimes there, sometimes not. Again, both have been rock solid for almost 2 days! WOW, Vista, aint it great ;¬)
