As you learned Consumer IR and IRda are not the same. As for a device that will transmit consumer IT, well I'm not sure why you are asking since you just named it in your last post. The USB-UIRT is exactly what you are talking about. It is a USB Consumer IR transmitter and receiver. You just plug it in to your USB port.
