Couple of questions... I see you learned the IR code every time you needed to use it. Is there a reason you didn't make a device that has all your IR codes and link to it instead of learning each time?
When I followed the macro's for the power to the VCR it seems to take me in a loop, I never found a place that actually turns the VCR on. What did I miss.
