I just got my remote and was looking through the the software.

When assigning properties to your devices, you can pick a device type, brand, and then a code set. How do you know which of the code sets to use?

I know for simple multi-device remotes (such as a VCR remote that will control your TV), knowing the brand name will get you down to a few different code sets and then it's trial and error from there.

I was wondering if there was a better way to figure out which code sets will work.
