Thanks for the replies guys. Since it's only a 20" TV which is used for casual watching I've decided, like jimbobhaslam suggested, to leave component progressive output on all the time and use the standard (scart) video signal for my TV. I can see the difference of course but it's not that bad and it saves me lot of trouble every time I switch from TV to projector. Also, when the DVD recorder is switched off the RGB signal from my decoder gets passed through directly to the TV so when watching live TV I still get an RGB signal.
