I have just acquired a refurbished Pronto 7500/17. I was able to succesfully program and make it learn several devices. I had problems, however, when I later tried to edit configurations from ProntoProEdit NG v2.1.4.0, installed on my notebook running on Windows XP. I got the following (not very helpful) error message on the notebook: "An error occurred while downloading the configuration to the device.". The Pronto flashed "Incorrect version of CP file or corrupt memory" and froze. I tried resetting by pressing the reset button in the batttery compartment, to no avail: when Pronto rebooted, it still showed the same message and was unresponsive to any commands. I rebooted my notebook, reinstalled ProntoProEdit but still nothing. I did the recommended updates to firmware (downloaded v. 3.8.11) and updated ProntoProEdit to version 2.1.8.0-- still same error message and frozen screen. Contacted Philips Pronto team but, as of yet, no reply. Any help will be much appreciated.
