Well, after looking at the prices for an IPAQ 1940 replacement
display... Well, I think I just hope I can somehow get
some money for the 3000 back (I own it for 3 weeks or
so, so I try to get the money back from the ebay guy,
or I sell it as broken) and buy a 3500 or 7000.
Can anyone confirm that the "Display dead" failure is
not present in the 3500 as on the 3000? Or are there the
same problems?
Only issue you will avoid in the 3500 is the backlight problem (in the 3000 backlight goes dim after some years). The 3500s use now LED backlight. But the LCD and the touchscreen are the same of the 3000. So problably it will in the future have the same problem (not yet reported since the model has no more then 2 years).
Do yourself a favor go for the 7000.
How much do you want for the 3000? Do you have a docking for it? How is the backlight?
