Is there any need for soldering to be done when replacing
the screen?
I'm not new to soldering but I have not much experience
with soldering very littler things.

I guess I'm looking for such a replace touchscreen if
the guy I bought it from will not answer.

Yes soldering is needed. And yes it's very delicated. It's also hard to take the old touchscreen out. And finally the ipaq 1940 series touchscreen is smaller, you have to position it right and you will end with bars on top and botton of the screen, but it will work nice. A lot more sensible then the OEM touchscreen.
